He

to a wonderful driving route for my visit to Southern California, which included this little gem called Tuna Canyon Road. It is probably the most fun road I’ve ever experienced.

JBH is the man. He gave me some tips for places around NYC and they were great.

I haven’t been on that road in a while. Good idea to go check it out again! I am thinking about hitting it up this weekend if I can find the time early Saturday or Sunday. My Miata is long overdue for a nice canyon workout. I do kind of wish it was uphill one way instead of downhill though. Yeah I have no power so downhill is easier, but I like having to use 100% of the car and its easier to drive at the absolute limit that way.
Also, you enjoying LA? I miss being home with the sun, awesome roads, and everything else. I do not miss the traffic but I get to mostly avoid that while commuting anyways. Being on travel this long kind of sucks but it does make me appreciate Socal even more when I am home on weekends.

Yeah making it uphill is the only real change I’d make, I’d much rather be wringing out the engine than be riding the brakes/holding low gears the whole time.

Is the email thread not doing anything recently? I haven’t gotten an email in ages

Well I’m the only one who plans things on there lol. With being away all the time, it’s difficult to plan anything with regularity right now. I planned on sending out an email soon though to set up an April event for sure. Hoping to do a nice canyons and PCH drive for the next one.

That looks like an incredible road and you were lucky to not catch any traffic. Thank you for sharing!

I can send one out for interest this weekend if its something you want to do. I am unsure if I can make anything but I know I am definitely going driving at some point anyways. Couldnt hurt to have company!

Well if you get it sorted, that certainly gives you an excuse to ride it a bunch! Sure would be a weight difference between that and the GTO lol

Well lets see
Bike is 419 lbs with 118 hp (crank) = 0.281
Car is 3725 lbs with 450 hp (crank) =0.120
So yeah power to weight is twice as good on the bike, which would be fun in the canyons

Something is telling me engine swap the two. I want 419 pounds and 450 horsepower. Disregard the part where the engine itself weighs more than 419 pounds

You’d be adding 450 lbs. That would be a 869 lb bike with 450 hp
